Financial Assistance
Alternative Financing Program
ATRC provides low-interest financial loans to qualified individuals through the alternative financing program. This program is in partnership with American Savings Bank to provide Hawaii residents with disabilities access to new resources and tools that can improve their quality of life through independence.
Who is eligible?
Any Hawaii resident who has a documented disability and is need of assistive technology.
How do I start?
Interested individuals may obtain a loan application from the Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii by calling 808-532-7112. Individuals must provide disability documentation and understand this process is for a potential loan – not a grant or other type of financial assistance.
What can I get?
Some examples of what you can purchase with a Hawaii Assistive Technology loan include but is not limited to:
-
Power wheelchairs or wheelchair lifts
-
Roll-in shower or lever handles on doors
-
Computers and communication devices for individuals with visual, hearing, motor or speech impairments
-
Replacement or repair of an existing AT device
